Presidents Message

Kudos to national CPRS and its leadership council and Leger for presenting some fantastic PD recently.

What resonated with me in that research was how AI use in crafting leadership messaging is not particularly popular. And certainly, erodes trust in leadership.

I do not use AI to write anything, including the books we have published. And I did not use it to write this brief missive.

And I did not use it to prepare assignments nor mark when I was on the academic side of things.

But I do use it many times daily with questions as I read my way through the day and have many conversations.

And I took Martin Waxman’s advice of some years ago – always say please and thank you when using AI. Etiquette is important with that interface, as it is with many in our daily lives. Perhaps a future PR session? What do you think?

We intend to deliver more PD on AI this year so please stay tuned. As well as on other topics. And we are planning a few parties as well.

Please reach out to me and our board with ideas and questions that will enhance your CPRS membership experience.

And I am open for a “live” coffee or brunch chat if any of you want to make the journey to Newmarket. There is a Wimpey’s near our condo.

Please stay safe.

Sincerely,

Mark Hunter LaVigne, MA, APR, FCPRS, LM
