Presidents Message
What is old is new again.
Sorry, I went to a lovely wedding recently and this was top of mind.
I was last president of CPRS Toronto 24 years ago. And I am excited and honoured to have been asked back to CPRS Toronto, Canada’s oldest society, celebrating 78 years.
CPRS Toronto is still going strong with a most impressive board of directors, a diverse group of very talented practitioners.
While technology has changed immensely, and we are in the most major technological shift of our human experience, many things have not. PR is very much the fifth estate, trying to keep it all together, in the middle of an increasingly disparate modern experience in a global village that is recognizing our city and country as at its apex.
We are planning to increase professional development immensely this year, calling upon the expertise of many of our PR family in this amazing city to help us. Please reach out to enable this mission.
We are in very exciting times. With many challenges, but if we work together we will prosper. I have always referred to CPRS as my professional family. I am delighted to back on our board and to be fully part of the family again for an exciting year.
Sincerely,
Mark Hunter LaVigne, MA, APR, FCPRS, LM
President, CPRS Toronto
