Founder & Principal, Amplify Public Relations

Andrea Chrysanthou is a multiple award-winning communicator and educator with almost 15 years of experience in communications, public relations and public affairs. She is the founder of Amplify Public Relations, a boutique communications agency that has rapidly established itself as one of the most trusted and results-driven firms in the country.

Andrea has advised some of Canada’s most prominent organizations and held senior leadership roles at two of the country’s most respected agencies: NATIONAL Public Relations and Global Public Affairs. Prior to her communications career, she worked as a journalist at Canada’s top national broadcasters and international news organizations. The background that gives her a uniquely sharp understanding of what it takes to tell a story that captivates audiences.

Andrea is one of fewer than 500 Canadians to hold the Accredited in Public Relations (APR) designation, through CPRS. Her campaigns have earned multiple national and international awards, including several CPRS National Gold Medals. She has served as a judge for the CPRS Awards of Excellence and as a member of the APR exam writing committee, contributing directly to the standards that define the profession. As President of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Public Relations Society- Toronto Chapter from 2024-2026, she has championed mentorship programs and professional development for emerging practitioners. She also regularly teaches and guest lectures at Canadian post-secondary institutions.

Andrea’s commitment to purpose extends into every dimension of her life. In 2026, she was named a national ambassador for World Education Services’ ‘Welcoming Economy’ campaign, which highlights the stories of refugees who have become Canadian industry leaders. She serves as Chair of the Board of Children First Canada, a national charity advocating for the rights of Canada’s eight million children and has held leadership roles with the Public Affairs Association of Canada, Equal Voice, and the Toronto Ward Museum.
