Maryjane (MJ) Martin APR, LM, FCPRS is a respected communications professional whose career has been defined by strategic counsel, leadership, and a deep commitment to advancing the public relations profession. A life member and former President of the CPRS Toronto Board of Directors, she has also served in numerous volunteer leadership roles, helping shape the organization over many years. In recognition of her contributions to both the profession and her clients, she was named CPRS Toronto’s PR Practitioner of the Year in 2012.

Throughout her career as a communications consultant, Maryjane specialized in corporate communications, helping organizations navigate complex business challenges with thoughtful strategy and clear communication. Alongside her consulting work, she began teaching public relations planning at Toronto Metropolitan University, where she continues to mentor and inspire the next generation of communications professionals.

Her career has continued to evolve alongside the changing communications landscape. In 2020, she transitioned into change management at TD Bank within the Global Technology and Solutions team, applying her communications expertise to help businesses lead through technology transformation.

Following the loss of her husband in 2022, Maryjane took time to step back from many external commitments. That period of reflection ultimately reinforced her passion for learning, connection, and supporting the future of the profession.

Whether guiding organizational change, mentoring students, or contributing to the communications community, Maryjane brings curiosity, generosity, and decades of experience to everything she does.
