About Andrea
DIRECTOR – ACCREDITATION
A University of Toronto English grad, my love of writing led me to a career in communications, where I spent the first 14 years in advertising, government public affairs and public relations.
Over the past 25 years, I’ve been a professor in Humber Polytechnic’s Faculty of Media, Creative Arts and Design, where I specialized in teaching social media, strategic communication planning, writing, and communication theory. I was also a thesis advisor.
Committed to lifelong learning, I’ve earned an MA and a PhD alongside my teaching career and recently completed my APR. I’ve guest lectured at the Edward Bernays School of Communication in Zagreb, Croatia and have been invited to the University of Toronto and TMU as a guest speaker. Recently retired from full-time teaching, I am currently the academic coordinator for the TMU Chang School’s Certificate in PR, where I also teach two courses.
An active member of the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS), I judge the association’s industry awards (ACE) in addition to sitting on the Toronto Board.
