| Carol Moore is currently Manager of Communication Services at the Town of Richmond Hill. The challenges of Richmond Hill are many, it is the fastest growing large municipality in Canada and a "bedroom community" with a great desire for information and participation in the local government structure.
Prior to her current role in Communication Services, Carol managed Special Events and
Marketing for the Town organizing many large and small scale special events as well as media relations and fundraising activities. Carol has organized events that have gained national and international attention.
Beginning in 1989 as a member of the Board of Directors, Carol was elected President of Festivals Ontario (now known as Festivals and Events Ontario) from 1992-1994. On behalf of the association, Carol was involved in many facets of the industry including policy setting, conference organization, fundraising, and much more.
Carol is currently a member of the International Association of Business Communicators, Public Affairs Association of Ontario and the Canadian Public Relations Society, achieving accreditation status in 1998. In 1999, Carol was elected to the Board of Directors for CPRS Toronto, charged with managing the Resource Centre. During 2000, Carol was a member of the Accreditation Committee and in 2001 Carol expanded her role assuming the position of Committee Chair preparing potential candidates for the accreditation process. Part way through the 2001 Board term, Carol also assumed the role of Second Vice President of CPRS Toronto.
Carol holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from York University in Toronto and has completed additional courses in Advertising and Public Relations. Carol has also completed courses organized in conjunction with the Public Relations Society of America and Michigan State University.
Carol's background also includes working in television and radio in the private sector prior to joining the Town of Richmond Hill. Carol also assisted in the organization of culture events which was part of the 1988 Winter Olympic Games in Calgary, Alberta. As a volunteer, Carol has assisted non-profit organizations including the Institute for the Prevention of Child Abuse and helped with the execution of events including Toronto Arts Week and Word on the Street.
